What is reformer Pilates?
A reformer is a Pilates machine with a moving carriage, springs and straps. The springs provide resistance or assistance, so the same exercise can be gentle for a beginner and challenging for an experienced client. That makes the reformer ideal for strengthening the deep muscles, improving posture and spinal mobility — without impact on the joints.
In our group classes we also work on the Pilates chair — a compact machine that demands extra stability and control, making the workout more varied and effective.
What a class at Telo Pilates Club looks like
- We start with breathing and core activation — the foundation of every movement.
- Then we work on the reformer and chair: strength, stability, spinal and hip mobility.
- The instructor watches each of you, corrects alignment and adjusts the springs to your level.
- We finish with stretching and mobility, so you leave lighter than you came in.
Who are group reformer classes for?
- Beginners — every exercise has easier variations and the instructor explains each movement.
- Anyone who sits all day and feels stiffness in the neck, shoulders and back.
- Athletes and dancers who need core strength and control.
- Everyone who wants a toned, strong, mobile body without exhausting workouts.
If you have an injury or a diagnosis, please contact us before your first class — in these cases we recommend starting with a private session. Prenatal Pilates is offered as private sessions only.
Why the Polestar method?
Polestar Pilates is an international education founded by physical therapist Dr. Brent Anderson. The approach is grounded in movement science and rehabilitation: we don't teach you to just “get through” an exercise, but to understand how your body moves. That's why results come faster and the risk of injury is lower.

Frequently asked questions
Didn't find your answer? Message us on Instagram — we’re happy to help.
Message us on InstagramI've never done Pilates. Can I come?
Of course. Groups are open to beginners — the instructor adapts the load and exercise variations to each person. If you'd like to learn the basics with full attention, we recommend starting with a private or semi-private session.
What is a reformer and how is it different from mat Pilates?
A reformer is a machine with a sliding carriage and springs. The springs add resistance or support, so the same exercise can be gentle or very demanding. On the mat you work with your own body weight and small props. Both strengthen the deep muscles — the reformer gives more options for precise loading.
What are the studio rules?
Please follow basic hygiene rules: come in clean socks and comfortable training clothes. This makes the class pleasant for you and for everyone else in the group.
